Launched in 2008 in its full gold version, the Rolex Submariner Date with ceramic insert was then offered in steel in 2010 with in addition a green bezel ... Ten years later, the brand with the crown returns with a whole collection of new Submariners Date completely revisited and above all, Rolex Submariner Date replica watch equipped with a much more powerful caliber!
Before, Rolex used to present its new Professionals in an “all gold” version, followed by gold and steel, then steel. It usually took three years, three Baselworlds.
But this time around, while the Geneva-based manufacturer has just unveiled the redesign of its new Submariner, the entire collection was presented at once and all the models will arrive on the market at the same time (with a delay of one month approximately for gold coins).
The quintessential diver's watch, the absolute reference in the field, the Submariner offers itself the luxury of having broken free from the element that saw it come into being in 1953, without denying any of its aquatic origins.
Familiar with the seabed, a universe in which it remains the basic instrument of any diver, it has long conquered the mainland, establishing itself there too, as the symbol of the action watch.
Water-resistant to 100, 200 and then 300 meters in depth through the successive developments that followed its launch, the Submariner has continued to symbolize Rolex's supremacy in water resistance.
Protected from time as it is from the elements, it has declined over the decades in many versions so here is the latest "grind".
The case
This new Oyster Perpetual Submariner Date unveils a redesigned casing, including a case slightly enlarged to 41 mm in diameter (vs 40 mm previously, but in reality it is "bigger" than only half a millimeter).
The dial
True to the historical aesthetic of the model, the new Submariner in Oystersteel is dressed in black on its dial and on its rotating bezel with Cerachrom disc. A variation in the yellow Rolesor version (combination of Oystersteel steel and 18 ct yellow gold) of the Submariner Date combines a royal blue dial and a rotating bezel with blue Cerachrom disc.
Two versions of the Submariner Date, one in Oystersteel steel, the other in 18 kt white gold, have a particular aesthetic configuration: the dial and the rotating bezel with Cerachrom disc are painted in different colors. The first thus brings together a black dial and a green bezel (probably the most popular of these novelties), the second a black dial and a blue bezel (by far the most beautiful but also the most expensive).
The Triplock winding crown, fitted with a triple waterproofness system and protected by a shoulder cut into the caseband, is securely screwed onto the case. As for the crystal - surmounted, on the Submariner Date, by the Cyclops magnifying glass at 3 o'clock for a better reading of the date - it is practically scratch-resistant sapphire. It is now coated with an anti-reflective coating on the inside.
The moevment
The new generation Sub'Date is equipped with caliber 3235, a movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. Self-winding, it has been the subject of several patent applications. It offers fundamental gains in terms of precision, autonomy, resistance to shocks and magnetic fields, ease of use and reliability.
Caliber 3235 incorporates the Chronergy escapement, patented by Rolex, which combines high energy efficiency with great operational safety. Made of nickel-phosphorus, this escapement is insensitive to magnetic fields. These movements also include an optimized version of the blue Parachrom hairspring, produced by the brand in an exclusive paramagnetic alloy which also makes it up to ten times more precise than a traditional hairspring in the event of impact.
